                                                    Thomas Edison

Time For Kids is a great resource to learn nonfiction information from.  I read a biography book that they wrote about Thomas Edison.
Thomas Edison was a great inventor and scientist. As a child Little Al, as he liked to be called. was always very curious, and wanted to know the answer to everything. He even got kicked out of school for asking to many questions! Little Al also got into lots of trouble. One time, Al was curious about how birds flew. He knew that birds ate worms, so he thought that might be how birds flew. Al mashed up some worms and water, and got a very trusting  friend to drink it! It made her very sick, and it did not make her fly!
Al's parents were Nancy and Samuel. Since Al had gotten kicked out of school, Nancy started home-schooling Al. Al's parents did not mind that Al asked so many questions. They actually liked it. When Al learned to read, he loved to read. He liked to read about geography, science and he loved to read Shakespeare's plays.
When Al was about 12, he got a got a job in a train. Al's job was to walk up and dawn the aisle selling food.  Al had a lot of time to spare after the people got of at Detroit.so he used that money to by notebooks. books, postcards, and newspaper which he sold on the way back. Al used the rest of the money to buy chemicals for experiments.

Rain Reign

                                                                       Rain Reign
Ann Mathews Martin is the author of many great books. She has been in interested in writing stories to even before she learned how to write! Ann M. Martins would tell her mother stories so she could write them down for her.

Rain Reign is about a girl named Rose Howard who loves homonyms. Her name is a homonym (Rose, Rows) and she even named her dog a homonym ( Rain, Reign, Rein). Rose has a syndrome called Asperger's syndrome.

Rose got Rain when Rose's dad was coming home from work and he saw a lost dog in the Rain. Rose asked her father whose dog it was, but her father said the dog had no collar, and no identity on it,  so she could keep the dog. Rose's father rarely gave her gifts. One day during a storm, when they had Rain for a few years, Rose's father let Rain out to use the bathroom. Rain usually sleeps by Rose, so when Rose saw that Rain was not there she asked her father. Her father said that he let Rain out a few hours ago and never let her in because she would find her way back.  Rain was lost. Rose had a plan though. Rose decided to call every possible animal shelter. In one animal shelter rain is there. Rose asked her uncle to drive her there. They scanned Rain and found a micro chip so they had to check for identification. They found out that Rain real name was Olivia and she belonged to some other family. Rose wanted to give rain back to her original owner, but Rose's father was angry because Rain was a gift that he gave to Rose. In the end, Rose gave Rain back to her original family.

Rain Reign is one of my favorite books because I like the story and characters. I was hooked to this book and I could not stop reading till I finished it!! I think anybody would like this book!!

Fuzzy Mud

                                           Fuzzy Mud
Louis Sachar is the author of many famous New York Times Best Sellers. His most recent book is Fuzzy Mud.

Fuzzy Mud is about two friends, Tamaya and Marshall who always walk together to and from school. But their time walking together gets stopped when a bully named Chad challenges Marshall to a fight. To keep Chad away from running into him, Marshall goes through a shortcut in the woods which are of limits. Since Tamaya did not know about the fight, and Marshall usually walked home with her, Tamaya followed Marshall into the woods. Unexpectedly, they got into big trouble with Fuzzy Mud.
Fuzzy Mud is a very dangerous thing that Tamaya, Marshall, and Chad were all harmed by in the woods. Marshall and Tamaya fell into it. Tamaya threw Fuzzy mud at Chad's face.
In my opinion, I think Louis Sachar did a great job describing everything and Fuzzy Mud is a great mystery.

Prisoner B-3087

Alan Gratz is the author of eight novels for young adults. He holds a B.A. in creative writing and a Maters degree in English education both from University of Tennessee, Knoxville.

Prisoner is pretty sad and hopeless in some parts, but in other parts,  especially the end, it is happy. Prisoner is about how all the German want the Jewish go away and work. Yanek's family all get killed by the Germans and Yanek has to work for the Germans. Many other prisoners die thought working. Yanek is prisoner B-3087 and B-3087 gets tattooed into his skull. Most of the other people are Poles and in the end the Germans figure out he his a Jew and all the Jews were to be killed. The Germans tried to kill him but then the Americans come while the Germans are not there and help Yanek and then he lives a happy life. One time he almost got killed because of hiding and he had to make up an escuse that he was walking to work.

I think Prisoner is a very emotional book and everybody young or old would enjoy it!!!

The Red Pyramid

                                                              The Red Pyramid
Rick Riordan s a very thoughtful and creative author. Rick Riordan wrote the Percy Jackson series. He lives in San Antonio, Texas with his wife and two sons.

The Red Pyramid is mostly about gods and goddesses. Sadie and her brother Carter trying to save their dad. Their dad got put in a coffin by a fiery man who was enemy of their father. Sadie and Carter mix the blood of two ancient blood lines. To save their dad Sadie and Carter have to accomplish a dangerous journey. The journey helps them learn about their families past. This all connects to the to the House of Life or Per-Ankh. This journey is very dangerous but they can make it with the help of Bast , Zia and Uncle Amos. I don't want to spoil it for you,but in the end, they don't save their dad but they accomplish much.

In my opinion I think The Red Pyramid is a very interesting book.If you enjoy stories about gods and goddesses, this is the book for you!!!!!:)

Louis Sachar is the author of Wayside school series. He was born in New Jersey,on March 20, 1954. Louis Sachar's latest book is Fuzzy Mud.

Wayside school is built sideways. It is supposed to have 1 storey and 30 classrooms. But instead, it has 30 stories and 1 classroom on each floor. The  first book is about when the students have a mean teacher, who can turn children to apples. Then the students tricked her and turned the mean teacher into an apple . After that, a new teacher comes and she is very funny. Next, the book just talks about and describes all the characters. This is an easy but fun series to read. The Series Of Unfortunate Events- The Reptile Room

I am reading The Series Of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket. There are 13 books in the series. I am on the 2nd book, the Reptile Room. I like reading about how Violet , Klaus, and Sunny escape from danger.

The reptile room is about how Violet, Klaus, and Sunny go away from Count Olaf and live with Uncle Montgomery. Uncle Montgomery is much more nicer than Count Olaf , in fact Count Olaf is very mean. Then, Count Olaf poisoned Uncle Montgomery, and mischief occurs. In the end , a  doctor comes, and soon, Violet, Klaus and Sunny figures out that the doctor and Count Olaf are criminals, so they go to jail.
